Del - Super Dynamite Soul
Del - Super Dynamite Soul

Del, who was with Scottish stalwarts 'All Time High', has just released his solo effort, 'Super Dynamite Soul', that is a joy to the senses.

I think it came as a bit of a shock to some people when Del announced he was leaving A.T.H. but if he continues producing solo material like this he may become just as important as they are within Scottish hip-hop.

This fourteen track CD is fantastic from start to finish and also contains a guest appearance from K9 Kev and Chad the Lad on the excellent 'Live for the Weekend' but it's with 'The Wait' that Del's skills shine through. I loved this track and I can only describe it as a cross between a horn that would not go a miss on a Public Enemy album, the soundtrack from a Commodore 64 game and a pinch of Jason and the Argonauts thrown in for good measure. I found myself totally engrossed with this track.

Why don't I give this full marks? Because, and much as I love this album, I feel we are yet to see the best from Del and I for one can't wait.

If you like your beats phat, fun and funky then you will love Del's 'Super Dynamite Soul'.
