Mr. Copy
Born in London in '88. Moved up to Glasgow in '94. Walked at a gentle pace through everything thrown at me since. Influenced by the teachers to drop outta school at the start of 5th year. Since then i've started college and then dropped out of college. Then started college again and dropped out again. Then i became a kitchen slave for a few months till i got sacked. Currently working in Sound Control in the Marketing Department.
Bought my first hip-hop cd in primary school. It was the classic Wu-Tang Clan debut, The 36 Chambers. That blew my mind and i've never heard anything like it since. I starting producing beats almost 2 years ago using Wavelab(bought by dad) and a cracked edition of Fruity Loops because motherfuckers just don't have money these days. Recently purchased a MPC 2500 which will hopefully help me step my game up. What got me started was listening to Rjd2's "Dead Ringer" and Dj Shadow's "Preemptive Strike". They made me want to create my own style of instrumental Hip-Hop. Since then i've moved on to just wanting to make some bass-heavy-banging-tunes.
Since starting to produce i have released one self-titled album with the group NineDaysFallen(Grey Brown, Dj Conjunkt214, Rameses The 5th and Mr Copy). We have done 2 gigs so far. The First was a TA Records night at stereo in the west end which featured acts, The Analogs(Grey Brown and Rameses The 5th), Thereafterus(Grey Brown, Gasp and Dj Ejek) and Ninedaysfallen for the Finale. The 2nd one was at King tut's where we supported Australian hip hop group Resin Dogs.
Right now i'm trying to work out the mpc so beats have been coming quite slow recently. Stay tuned for music being released by me this year.
