Hype has been around the Scottish scene on and off since the dawn of the millenium.
Aptly named Hype, was one of the 1st of the Scottish New School, to make use of the internet for promotion. Despite winning BBC 1xtra's Homegrown cuts with Irish emcee Jee4ce, and appearances on Radio Magnetics, Kemikal Kaos, he has stayed in the shadows.
Regarded by some as an outspoken thorn in the side of sub-standard hip-hop and by select others as an ambassador of our small scene through and through.
Now writing under the alias Kobain Peeks, Hype still uses the internet as a stage for his music, pushing real hiphop worldwide. Made for Nothing and Played for Nothing, Pay for Nothing! Hype makes no financial gain and still approaches the genre as it's number 1 fan.
