Mixed Bizness & Slam Events Present… Fake Blood

Mixed Bizness & Slam Events conspire to bring you the return of Fake Blood to Glasgow. After two crazy sold out shows at Sub Club and an earth quake enducing set in The Slam Tent at this year’s T in the Park, it’s time to take it up a notch and bring the full Fake Blood audiovisual experience to The Arches.
If there is one name that has defined electronic house music in recent times it’s Fake Blood. He has seen his profile rocket in the last 2 years with his unrivalled output of remixes and original productions, providing DJs the world over with the some of the most devestating records they can lay their hands on. It’s not just DJ geeks that have fallen for his styles. Oh no. Dance floors the world over have been smashed to pieces with every turbo powered drop, disco cut up and crunching bass line to come from his studio. Fake Blood is a man of mystery and this is backed up with his ‘quality over quantity’ approach to releasing records. The massive ‘Mars’ was the undeniable sound of 2008 and since then his credentials have been cemented with mind bendingly good remixes of Hot Chip, Little Boots, Calvin Harris, Gossip, Underworld and The Count & Sinden amongst many others. His latest EP release has been a slow burner with the amazing triple bill of ‘The Dozens’, ‘Fix Your Accent’ and the now ubiquitous ‘I Think I Like It’ being released at the end of 2009. Since then ‘I Think I Like It’ has blown up into the biggest dance track of 2010, acheiving manstream success all the while retaining it’s appeal to the underground party kids that have elevated Fake Blood to such a high standing in the electronic music community.
Fake Blood’s DJ sets are something to behold, 4 decks, 2 hands, 1 mixer and a crate full of party smashing house and techno music that never fails. Anyone that was lucky enough to witness his previous sets at Sub Club and The Slam Tent know that to be true.
Since beginning their foray into music production in early 2009, Clouds have found themselves the subjects of a meteoric rise within blog and DJ circles alike. Comprised of two youngsters from Perth, Clouds are the latest and freshest to emerge from the seemingly bottomless pool of electronic musical talent that Scotland has to offer. Drawing on influences as diverse as Animal Collective and Green Velvet, their musical dexterity is more than apparent in their musical creations, joining the dots between driving electro, bumping house and crunching techno, all the while retaining a musicality and longevity often found lacking in much of today’s disposable club music.
Despite their limited output they have managed to attract the attention of some of the biggest and best names in club music, making ardent fans out of the likes of Tiga, Fake Blood, Proxy and Boys Noize. With upcoming releases for Fake Blood’s new label, a forthcoming EPs for Turbo Recordings and Sucker Records as well as an entry on their newest compilation CD as well as an inclusion on Boys Noize’s recent DJ Mag mix CD, the next few months look set to be the making of Clouds.
