The Sentinalez - Enter The Centre
The Sentinalez - Enter The Centre

The Sentinalez, a three man group from Glasgow, have released a new long player 'Enter The Centre' which will delight fans old and new.

Comprising of members from some of the most influencial groups in Scottish hip-hop, Two Tone Committe, Course of Procedure and Thoughtz of Mortalz, 'Entre the Centre' is a impressive journey through various musical styles and forms. The use of eastern and jazz influences throughout the album reminds me of another, now no longer, Scottish collective 'Blackanized'. The beats are an amazing assault on the sences and never produce a dull moment.

The Fisherman, the intro track of the album, kicks things off with a 'Fu-Schnickens' style vibe which is a joy to hear and transports me back to the my youth growing up with hip-hop like this. The following track 'Snake Charmer' contains another thumping beat and amazing lyrical skill that up and coming acts should take note of. You can feel the experience and knowledge spew from each track on 'Entre the Centre' and this only hightens the experience. Even the Skits are well produced and do not feel like they are included just to make up the numbers.

'Streets of Sanfranalez' is one of the many highlights for me which shows off the rapping skills of Mistah Bhoze and Chuck while showcasing Bhoze's production to full effect.

This album is a must for any hip-hop collection, Scottish or otherwise, so do yourself a favour and 'Entre the Centre'.
