Rite & dANdY - Demo
Rite & dANdY - Demo

Edinburgh duo RhymeRite & MC dANdY have teamed up with producer Alexis Beattie and released there five track EP entitled 'Demo'.

'Demo' starts with an intro track that has a question and answer season with the so called 'Prime Minister' discussing the state of the UK today. This was interesting but once heard I skip straight to the music.

Things kick off with 'AlRite & dAndy' which acts as an introduction to both emcees. I love the beat on this track as it reminds me of an old Commodore 64 game which, unfortunately for me, I can not remember the name of.

'The Criminal Commits', as the first verse suggests is about how 'society prepares the crime, the criminal commits it'. The song takes you on a journey with RhymeRite as he tries to 'raise' cash to pay his rent. Another good track showcasing the skills that both emcees obviously have.

Also, with the references that these guys use throughout the EP you can tell they have a good grasp of hip-hop past and present.

Track three, 'Change Our Ways', has Rite & dANdY spitting there feelings about the current climate of fear in the world today from fast food companies to the war(s).

'Easy' the last track on this impressive 'Demo' EP is, to me, the best of the bunch. I loved this track from the get go and also includes dANdY singing the chorus. This combined with the beat and rapping works really well for me.

Rite & dANdY's EP sounds different from a lot of other Scottish hip-hop out at the moment and they have found a fan here and I will be looking forward to future releases.
