Track 1: C-I-T-Y
Track 2: Guess Who

It was only 4 years ago when Da BlinGz wrote his first verse at the age of 14, when he realised - not only could he listen to his favourite hip hop artists, but he could also become one himself. Da BlinGz would always take a pen and pad with him everyday on the bus heading towards school, but it wasn’t to save time or do drawings, it was used to note down his feelings. Juggling both homework and music at the same time was hard but he managed it well. So well, that he began to collaborate with other MC’s around the world. He started to connect with more and more people as time went on, learning new things every step of the way, but there was a slight problem.. he needed to find his own style. Trying out different types of beats helped him find his rhythm and a style started to develop. He tried out several ways of writing and flowing for months on end but when he found the perfect combination, everything started to click. Less than a year later, he recorded his first single “Friendz”, a classic in the eyes of the audience. “Friendz” is a dedication to the friends that he soon left behind to succeed in the music industry of Hip Hop and RandB - in which they would never approve of. What was sure to be a phase of a mere body, turned into his passion, his strive, and the love of his life. Little did he know, this huge transformation at this point in his life would change forever.

The Progression

While other teens grew up doing the things that most teenagers do at such a troublesome age, like underage drinking, smoking and hanging around the street corners – in which he never wished to turn to, Da BlinGz concentrated on his music. Progressing as a lyricist, learning as a producer and perfecting his mix downs, he was on his way to create his own articulate, personalised music which included uptown attractive beats, a wicked flow and lyrics that only God himself would be proud of. The only thing left to think about was his fan base. Da BlinGz creates music that everyone can relate to, feel, and most of all – understand. Within each sentence, verse, and chorus, there is a connotation.. a hidden meaning implied to it. His Scottish background and his mainstream appeal mixed together with a distinctive voice is sure to be a different sound in today’s music industry.

Down 2 Earth

Following the second independent release "I've Landed", the highly anticipated "Down 2 Earth" album is set to be one of the best unsigned UK Urban releases of 2005. With lullaby-styled hooks and breezy flows on the verses, it's safe to say that Da BlinGz' style is fresh and creative. Every track is mixed and edited by himself, and is soon going to add "Producer" to his resume. The album has taken nearly a year to complete with 7 different producers around the globe taking part in the project. Weather you like deep Hip Hop music, clean RandB tracks or even Rock music - this album is definitely worth checking out. “Down 2 Earth is like a book with audio.. each song tells a story or an experience that every human goes through at least once a week on a daily basis, and what we have to remember when those special moments come into play” says the Comeback King.

Doin it Live

Da BlinGz has performed at various widespread locations including major live gig events for new unsigned and upcoming new talents at promo launch gigs and local taverns. Strawberry Fields, a live act club for new talent in the heart of the city of Glasgow, had its critics and audience raving about a new act. The promo staff loved it and the fans went crazy! The only thing that went wrong on the night was the throwing of free demos, when one of them accidentally struck a family member in the face! Luckily, the funny side was seen. Quite ironic how music can hit you mentally and physically! Other venues include Fury Murrys, Barfly and Bar Bloc among many others.

The Beginning of an Era

2004 was a breakthrough for Da BlinGz. He earned some radio airplay and his material was utilised on a new celebration CD. His track “Respect” from the album “Down 2 Earth” was played on ‘Beat 106’ by Paul N’Jae on his urban beat show - showcased on Sunday evenings, which received great reviews. Furthermore, the same track was used on The Big Issue Scotland’s magazine’s annual CD titled ‘Mindset’ (based on mental health and well-being) for unsigned artists, which also received tremendous reviews and blew the panel of industry professionals away. What is next in store for the young Flying Scotsman? What is the next stage in the ultimate prodigy from Glasgow? Can he crack the urban market? Can he break the U.K and Stateside? The journey has started for Da BlinGz and he is enjoying every minute of it by seizing every opportunity that he can grasp. Let’s face it; he has his whole career ahead of him! Is this the new Hip Hop Guru?
