Belky (James Belkevitz) was born and raised in Glasgow. He started writing lyrics at 14 years old and at 16-17 began messing about recording with instrumentals which ever way he could using mobile phones, mp3 players and very basic pc mics.
He has been influenced by many mainstream artists such as 2pac, Nas, Eminem, Wu Tang and Dead Prez to name a few and more recently many underground artists including Vinnie Paz, R.A The Rugged Man and is greatly influenced by Immortal Technique.
Now 21 years old, he's been handing out CDs for a couple years and is working on a more formal release of his debut album early this summer (2008) entitled "Bad world for poor people".
In late 2007 he joined up with Scottish hiphop collective Sick Penmanship and together they will be releasing a mixtape also early this summer (2008) entitled 'All out war'.
With 3 collaborative tracks already done this year and several releases on the way things look to be on the up for Belky.
