Bring da ruckus birthday anniversary - Part 2 took place at the Foundry Bar in Inverness. When I first heard there was a gig in Inverness I was sceptical about it at first due to the size of the town and I questioned how the Inverness people would take to home grown hip hop, luckily it went down well.

The first act on was MC Dandy from Edinburgh. This was his first solo gig onstage and although he admitted he looked nervous he seemed far from it. The opening track 'Easy', a mellow track starting with the chorus, something a lot of MCs I know wouldn’t dare to do, was a great introduction to the night. The stand out track from Dandy's performance for me personally was “The Lab” with a catchy chorus and a nice flow which kept the crowd entertained.

The next act on stage was “The Uprising” based in Dunfermline. MC Cydal, not shy of some vodkas, was noticeably drunk onstage sometimes slurring his words but Danny C entertained the crowd with his one liner jokes and held their set together. The stand out track for me was “Hard to Find”.

IQ , the Glasgow and Edinburgh duo brought increased energy to the stage with some very impressive beat boxing skills from Quest and Immense rapping over beats with great delivery and flow. IQ's 'My Cause' was a stand out track for me and it was clear the crowd were enjoying Quest's beats throughout the set. At the end of their set IQ invited other rappers to jump up onstage and share a verse while Quest beat boxed. This definitely gained a lot of interest from the crowd and went down well.

The first from the two acts from Inverness to perform was Spit Dis. Their first song was badly mixed by the engineer and this made it hard to understand what the rappers were saying, They did produce some nice rhymes and they looked well rehearsed although on the night lacked the participation from the crowd. The highlight from their set was “Watcha gona do” with some nice multi syllable lyrics from all three rappers.

The local Lost Property boys. Verse One and Krafty, impressed me a lot with their set. Their banging beats and heavy flows moved the home crowd the most making sure they made a statement to the Inverness people, that hip hop was here in Inverness. The highlight for me was the freestyles, a few messed up lines, but they impressively pulled it off.

Headlining the gig was Edinburgh rapper Eastborn. From the moment he grabbed the mic you could tell this guy has been doing this for years. Pronouncing every word well and giving the crowd an insight into his political views. His set went down great with his head nodding beats and rapid flow.

Overall was a great night despite the absence from West and Dj Chaos. Nice venue, a few problems with the sound but overall a success!
